There is not a tiki hut or barbeque pit on the beach. Tiki huts are located at the top of the dune, along the dirt trail but fires are prohibited in this area. There are plenty of grills in the lower park area. There has been some significant erosion in the past months and rock exposure has become a problem limiting access to the water.

Until very recently, Phipps was a regular visit for my family. It deserved the highest rating in every category. Since the "Dredge and Fill" project has started, I no longer have any reason to visit this beach. Fishing, Snorkelling, and swimming are no longer viable at that location because of the many damaging consequences of dredging. It is a shame to have ruined such a beautiful, ecologically important nearshore reef.
