It's water, water everywhere at this county park, which includes a freshwater swimming beach, cable water skiing, a variety of boats for rental, and Splash Adventure, an interactive children's water playground (open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from May through end of October and on weekends the rest of the year). Fishing is permitted on the shores of most of the lakes. The park also has a skate park, a large playground, sports equipment rentals, and a biking/jogging trail, as well as a snack bar. Sports equipment for rent includes balls for soccer, football, volleyball and kickball; softball kits, Frisbees and bike helmets. There are several picnic pavilions available for parties on weekends, as well as more tables and grills throughout the park. The pavilions and large picnic area can handle groups between 42 and 400 on a first-come, first-served basis. The park also has a campground that includes 23 camp sites plus Rent-A-Tent sites, which include platform, grill, picnic table and fire pit. Restrooms and showers are available. (January 10, 2006) Splash Adventure: Designed for kids ages 12 and younger, this large water playground is an adventure for any tike who likes playing with running water, water slides and water wheels. There's an adjacent freshwater swimming beach. Open 9:30 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. Admision $3 per person, children ages 1 and under free (in addition to admission to Quiet Waters Park). (May 31, 2005) Ski Rixen: At this cable park you can go waterskiing without a boat. Popular with wakeboarders, the lake offers various ramps and obstacles for ripping tricks (helmet required).
