INDOOR STAGE
6 p.m.: Off on a Tangent. This up-and-coming act from Boca Raton combines classic-rock, jam-band and contemporary-alternative influences. It recently won the Boca Teen Fall Festival Battle of the Bands, for which City Link's Dan Sweeney was a judge. (

7 p.m.: Secret P.E. Club. This group's two women and one man turn out great indie rock, despite having practically started on a dare. New drummer Mark Zolezzi, also of Mr. Entertainment and the Pookiesmackers and The Gruntled, has kicked the Club up a notch. (

8 p.m.: ShuttleLounge. Imagine one of those bad Las Vegas cover bands that do loungy renditions of hits from the 1960s and '70s. Now, picture it doing loungy covers of, say, Radiohead. Turn up the cheese factor to about 11. That's ShuttleLounge. (

9 p.m.: Mr. Entertainment and the Pookiesmackers. This longtime band from Hollywood specializes in quirky tunes. The world of Mr. E's witty songs seems almost entirely populated by sideshow freaks, carnival rides and cotton candy. He's often hilarious and sometimes poignant. (

PATIO STAGE
6 p.m.: Lefty Lucie. Vocalist Lucie Wood fronts this straight-ahead rock band whose style varies from hard-rocking numbers to soulful balladry. Full disclosure: Guitarist Russell Gazzana works as a City Link sales representative in his day job. We love him, but not in that way. (

7 p.m.: Ject. This young Fort Lauderdale band combines funk and rock in a deliciously catchy brew. And given current oil prices, its "Girls Are a Waste of Gasoline" is certainly a song for our times. (

8 p.m.: Truckstop Coffee. Without sacrificing the rock, this alt-country act leans more toward the twangy side of the genre. As expected, songs run the gamut from whiskey to women to trucks to prison to mama and leave you alternately crying in your beer or banging your head. (

9 p.m.: The Bittercups. This indie-rock act sprang up as a side project for members of The Heatseekers and Billy Boloby but now seems to have taken on full-time status. Full disclosure: Bassist Terra Sullivan writes for City Link. We love her too, and only partially in that way. (

10 p.m.: The Remnants. Come for the scorching vocals of frontwoman Cynthia DuVall and the excellent musicianship of the rest of the band. Stay for stellar covers of everything from Motown to vintage punk. (

11 p.m.: Two Story Double Wide. Like Truckstop Coffee, this band combines country and rock, but it falls mainly on the rock side, specifically punk. The cow-punk act has gone through major lineup changes recently, including adding a banjo player. This will be the new lineup's first gig. (

Midnight: Brendan O'Hara and the Humble Ones. This power trio blends jazzy, soulful tunes with folky, heartfelt lyrics to craft its memorable tunes. The group recently finished its second full-length effort, Perception Inception. (Brendanohara.org)
1 a.m.: The Mary Tyler Whores. Wrap up the festival with the most obnoxious -- and, for that matter, noxious -- act in South Florida. The Whores play punk rock without any of the odious pop hyphenations. With a new drummer and the same old attitude, the band is about as subtle as a kick in the teeth. (

STREET STAGE
6 p.m.: Hagus Magagus. This three-piece funk outfit features two skinny white kids and one big black man, all combining to create the best funk in South Florida. It's guaranteed to get the party started. (

7 p.m.: Humbert. This indie-rock quartet is the best thing to come out of Hialeah since, well, we'll think of something. In any case, Humbert rocks, and how many bands can do that while playing a clarinet? (

8 p.m.: The Mission Veo. Taking their cues from both 1980s acts like Joy Division and the resurgence in rock acts that look to similar areas for inspiration, such as Interpol, the boys from The Mission Veo call the resulting sound "dance-punk." The name fits well. (

9 p.m.: John Ralston. Formerly the singer-songwriter of West Palm Beach's Legends of Rodeo, Ralston has released his first solo album, Needle Bed, and signed to Vagrant Records. His solo work somehow rocks while touching mainly on the themes of loss and nostalgia. See interview at left. (

10 p.m.: The Freakin Hott. The duo of Aaron Gentry and Mary-Margaret represents some of the best -- and most sexually charged -- songwriting in South Florida. The band only got better after adding a drummer and going electric a couple of years ago. (

11 p.m.: Dooms de Pop. Once regarded primarily as a noise act, this band has added melodic elements over the past year and -- while still as anti-pop as ever -- has forged some tuneful work. (
