City Link contributor Peter Langoné fell in love with photography as a teenager. "My friend's dad had a studio, and we went down there to borrow money to go to the movies," the native New Yorker says. "Soon after that, I became his apprentice."
Langoné majored in business at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and moved to Fort Lauderdale in the 1970s. He has traveled the globe photographing models and celebrities -- including Matt Damon, Venus Williams and Marc Anthony -- and shooting advertisements for Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz and other big-name clients.
Working on City Link's Hot Professionals Issue was a welcome change of pace for the lensman. "Shooting this issue was a lot of fun because these are real people, and many of them had never been in front of a professional photographer before," he explains. "I'm proud of these photos, and I enjoyed getting to know each person in them."
So what's next for the shutterbug? "I'll be casting soon for my first motion picture, Shades of Davani," Langoné says. "It's a story I started writing 15 years ago about two Italian friends in New York. One's a famous painter, and the other's a don."
