A little something extra
Spa employees reveal what happens when clients want them to pull more than hair or rub sore muscles.

So long as we're talking about legitimate businesses and not those happy-ending massage parlors that advertise in the back pages of certain weekly magazines, the most intimate services a salon or spa can legally offer are bikini waxes and massages. But even at the most up-and-up establishments, customers sometimes confuse themselves with actors in a late-night Cinemax movie as soon as their bottoms come off. Following are two on-the-job experiences from local aestheticians who asked to remain anonymous.
Wax on, get off
"Bikini-waxing has never been my favorite thing to do as a waxer, but the salon I work at in Palm Beach offers it. If a customer requests it, we have to do it. I prefer waxing legs and brows. One day, I had a woman come in for a bikini wax and ask me to make the wax extra hot. I really didn't feel comfortable doing that because she could burn her skin. But she kept insisting, so I made it hotter. I spread the wax along her bikini line, and she started wiggling all over the table. As I yanked the strips of hair away, she kept asking me to pull harder, like she was getting off on it. I was completely freaked out by this point and just trying to get it over with, so I worked as fast as I could. When she asked me to leave the room, I was actually relieved. She came out 15 minutes later with this huge grin on her face, so I guess she finished herself off in there."
No happy ending here
"I work at a very upscale spa in Miami Beach, where massages cost $100 and up for an hour. It's happened to me a couple of times now where I've been massaging guys and they start to pitch a tent when I have them roll over onto their back. I'm [a heterosexual man] and in a relationship, so I wasn't interested either time when these guys asked if I could finish them off. One of the guys offered me an extra $50 bucks to rub his dick. He kept saying, 'I'm not gay; I just need you to help me out because my wife never touches it.' But I just refused to do it. Then, I left the room so he could put his clothes back on. I knocked [on the door], and he said to go ahead and open the door. And he was standing there completely naked. I just wanted to run away."
