Dancer in the dark?

We know you need a soundtrack for pole-dancing, so we asked the experts.

Stripping is hard work, particularly when the music stops. Janene, a dancer at Solid Gold in Fort Lauderdale, insists a good entertainer can strip to anything. "I'll go from Marilyn Manson to Sade," she says. "It's all about the crowd and making eye contact." But certain songs always get asses shaking and tongues wagging. Here are some Solid Gold dancers' favorite tracks for bumping and grinding.

Jada

Favorite songs: "Foolish" by Ashanti and "Thong Song" by Sisqó

"Slow songs are harder to dance to," Jada says, "but they're better for the crowd because they have more time to look at you."

Scarlett

Favorite songs: "Sexy Fuck" by Who's Who and "Faster Kill Pussycat" by Paul Oakenfold featuring Brittany Murphy

"These songs have a lot of energy, and that helps me get the crowd going," Scarlett explains.

Taylor

Favorite songs: "Hot in Herre" by Nelly and "Nuthin' but a G Thang" by Dr. Dre

"Hip-hop has a sexy sound," Taylor says. "Rock is OK, but there's more of a grind in hip-hop."
