If you want to get into the Source Awards, you're in luck if you move fast. The James L. Knight Center has only 5,000 seats, 1,500 of which are already reserved, but a limited number of tickets are on sale at
www.ticketmaster.com. And unlike tickets for the MTV Awards, these are actually attainable, with main floor and first and second tiers all priced at $80. Doors close at 6 p.m., so make sure you and your crew finish your Crunk Juice early. Security is also going to be tighter than Beyoncé's shorts, so don't think of pulling a 50 Cent.
If you want to get into the awards in style, you either have to release a best-selling album or pawn Lil Jon's cup, because VIP tickets to the show are being sold only in packages directly from the magazine. (See
www.sourceawardsweekend.com or call 786/888-0060.) And to make getting in even more of challenge, the show's organizers are keeping the details surrounding the weekend so hush-hush that most of their own staff at press time didn't know the times and locations of some events. If you can actually afford any of these packages, then you're probably up for an award, so good luck.
