Lead singer for Miami alternative band Addax

How old are you? 21. It's the best age.

In five words or less, describe your band's sound. Incubus with a female singer.

What does it say on your favorite T-shirt? "You say tomato, I say fuck you."

Do you owe people money? People owe me. I'm the one everyone comes to for money. I always say, "All I have is a five." That's as high as I go. Don't ever tell anyone you have more than a five.

Do you work a part-time job? No, but I need work. If anyone needs a bartender or an interpretive dancer, I'm your girl.

What's in your car's CD player? A local band, Just for a Day.

What's your best lyric? "In days in which I could have loved to live/But lived to only love to hurt."

What lyric do you wish you wrote? Everything that Incubus has written.

What's your backup plan? I'm majoring in advertising at FIU, but hopefully rock star will interfere with that.

Gwen Stefani or Karen 0? Gwen, for sure.

What's with the name Addax? Craig, the bass player, came running in with a list of endangered creatures one day and yelled, "I've got it!" We were confused, but it ended up sticking. The addax is some kind of rare relative of the antelope. It lives in Africa, I believe, and can go for a long time without water.

What turns you off about a guy? Super-smelly breath.

What turns you on? When his name is Alex. For some reason, I pretty much end up with Alexes.

What's your most prized possession? I have this old spiral notebook full of song lyrics and pictures of old boyfriends. It's like my little black book.

Are breakups good for the music? I could do a full album on my breakups. Music is my out.

What did you do the last time you skipped school? Went to see this local band in the middle of the day. Catapillah Silk.

Finish this sentence: I believe in … my music. How corny is that?

Addax will perform 10 p.m. Saturday at the City Link Music Fest in downtown Hollywood. For more information, see . For more on the band, visit www.addaxband.com.
