Shopping at Macy's in the Fashion Mall got much tastier this year with the opening of the nationally franchised Cosí. Hidden in a corner of the department store, Cosí improves on the typical food-court fare with a health-conscious menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, coffees and sweets. The nine sandwiches, served on thin focaccia bread, include grilled chicken with tomato, basil and mozzarella, and roast beef with wasabi mayonnaise. The signature salad is a delicious combo of mixed greens tossed with Gorgonzola, grapes, pears, pistachios and dried cranberries in a vinaigrette. A variety of caffeinated drinks are served hot or cold, with cookies, brownies and biscotti to complement them. Cosí also has locations in The Falls and Dadeland malls and a coffee kiosk at Aventura Mall, with a full café in the works there.
