Limited Edition: The South Exclusives
DJ Crash, www.crashmusicradio.com

With Limited Edition: The South Exclusives, DJ Crash has put together one slamming, South Florida-centric mix tape. Veteran musician and producer Crash, a.k.a. Wayne Walters, received contributions from the likes of Pitbull, the Maverix, De La Soul and other established local and national artists. From the "drops" that open the recording -- shout-outs from the likes of Jim Jonsin and the Baka Boys left on Crash's answering machine -- to a well-paced blend of gangsta rap and partying R&B, The South Exclusives never lags. Miami rapper Garcia proudly proclaims that he's "not from New York" on the infectious song of the same name and rhymes about life in Miami on "305." Dirty Truth does the same for Broward on "954" and "Lauderdale," a gritty ode to the place that made him one hard mother. "We got our little areas," Crash says of the local hip-hop scene. "We got the Miami sound, the Hialeah sound vs. the MCs from further south in Kendall. Everybody kind of does his thing." And now, thanks to Crash, they're doing their thing on radio playlists as far away as Russia, Croatia, Kenya and Japan.
