Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theatre
Paradise Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, State Road 7 and Stirling Road, Hollywood, 954/981-5653, www.improvftl.com
The third Improv in South Florida is clearly the best, not so much because of the acts it brings but for the drop-dead gorgeous setting in which it presents the comics. Unlike the Improvs at CityPlace and the Streets of Mayfair, the Hard Rock room is designed like a small theater with tiered seating that scales back with unobstructed sightlines to the stage. Two rows of couches and bars border the three levels of table seating. While all three Improvs book the same A-list comics -- Christopher Titus, D.L. Hughley and Ralphie May among them -- this one gives them a venue worthy of an HBO special. The club also features a magician serving drinks and performing sleight-of-hand tricks at a bar located near the front entrance.
