The Laundry Bar is something of an institution on South Beach. Tucked away between Macy's and the Lincoln Road Mall (between Meridian and Pennsylvania avenues) and conveniently located beside the Convention Center's parking garage, this bar is indeed a full-service Laundromat. It even offers a dry-cleaning service. How can anyone resist a bar with the slogan "Where your clothes get washed while you get sloshed"? Although it's gay-owned and attracts a gay crowd, The Laundry Bar is straight-friendly. Open 7 a.m.-5 a.m. daily (though the bar doesn't open till noon), the bar charges $1.75 to $4 per load, depending on weight. Drink and laundry specials are offered on Lounge Lizard Tuesdays. The stainless steel bar lends the club an industrial look, while the sound system drowns out the washing machines. Internet access is also available.
