Kyojin Buffet
3485 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, 954/568-2208
Move over China, the Japanese buffet at Kyojin is the emperor of the all-you-can-eat buffet, Asian and otherwise. Kyojin has it all and then some, both cooked and raw, with high-quality cooked foods and more than 30 sushi items. The middle of the serving area features nearly two dozen hot items, including teriyaki-marinated mushrooms, eggplant in garlic sauce, yakitori pork chops, ginger fish fillet and about five chicken dishes. The sushi is replenished as quickly as customers fill their plates, and the constant turnover all but guarantees freshness. Everything we've tried has been first-rate, and you never have to go searching for someone to keep your drink filled between those return trips. The charge is $8.95 for lunch on weekdays and $15.95 for dinner on weeknights; it's a couple of bucks more on the weekend, but even at that, it's one of the best food bargains you'll find.
