Mick Shane's psychological thriller Water Over Wine blew away audiences at this year's Palm Beach International Film Festival. With its frenetic pace and split-screen action, it played like an episode of 24 set in the South Florida sun. The film was named the festival's Best Picture and earned star Jamie Marrs the award for Best Actress. Shane was splitting his time between here and Austin, Texas, which is known for its thriving indie-film scene. But now, he's back and has become a full-time Florida filmmaker. "I love Austin, but I have more resources at my disposal to get films made in Florida," he says, adding that he plans to use inexpensive studio space at places such as G-Star School of the Arts in Palm Beach County. His next film is titled Murderabilia, which he explains with the tag line, "The best way to achieve fame is to kill someone famous."
