Rosamary O'Neal
Creolina's, 209 S.W. Second St., Fort Lauderdale, 954/524-2003

Anyone who likes to eat at restaurants knows all too well how mediocre most servers are in South Florida, especially compared with other urban centers in this country. We'll spare you the laundry list of offenses and simply say Rosie O'Neal isn't one of them. The winner in this category for the umpteenth time, O'Neal always earns bouquets for her sassy come-ons and sly humor. But we don't do her justice by recognizing her personality alone. O'Neal is great at what she does because she not only lightens your mood but also keeps you happy by bringing the food while it's hot and pouring refills of house-made sweet tea and lemonade. While she makes her job fun, she's also a tireless worker who takes pride in being, as she says, "the best of the best." We wish there were more like her, except it's not possible. There's only one O'Neal, and Creolina's has her.
