The plural in World Watersports is a misnomer, because this franchise of five Florida stores specializes exclusively in dive gear. In fact, it was called Divers Direct until recently, but the name was changed to lure more people into what is an intimidating underwater pursuit for many. The more-accessible image is suited to World Watersports, which appeals to all levels of scuba divers, from newbies, who can get certified through the online and classroom courses, to practiced sea salts who come for the huge selection of name-brand merchandise. The one-stop shop has everything a diver needs to explore our offshore reefs, including spear guns, titanium knives, cameras and a tool pack for emergency repairs. Anyone still reluctant to take the plunge will find plenty of beach- and casualwear from Oakley, Billabong, Quicksilver and Patagonia that's perfect for the boat or the post-dive party.
