Art Scavenger Hunt
Himmarshee Village, along Southwest Second Street, Fort Lauderdale

Need some original art to liven up your living space but can't afford to buy it and aren't about to break into a museum to steal it? There's hope for cash-strapped aesthetes with the annual Art Scavenger Hunt, staged every fall by local artists Steve Sticht and Tom Doodle. The hunt typically begins at Tavern 213 and continues with a search of the surrounding neighborhood, where an assortment of hidden treasures from such artists as Sas and Colin Christian, Skot Olsen, Francesco LoCastro, Jill Weisberg and Lebo are hidden. If you find something you like, it's yours. If not, leave it for someone else. There's a limit of two pieces per scavenger, and besides filling the blank wall above the futon, the hunt is the most fun you can have in Himmarshee that doesn't involve drinking.
