Fret not, however, for savvy Ikea shoppers get their goods online and have them delivered (unassembled) to their home in seven to 14 days. The furniture is made in Sweden and Eastern Europe, where frugal, hard-working people build furniture not unlike them. The Ikea line of sofas, chairs, tables, platforms beds, dressers and desks are solidly built, free of excess frou-frou and timelessly Scandinavian. Wall units for storing books, CDs and DVDs can be had for about $300, and an entire bedroom set (queen bed, two dressers and wardrobe) costs less than $1,000, sans shipping. We recommend calling in a phone order, because it's faster and less complicated than ordering online.
