Encompassing Latin rock, samba, electronica and hip-hop, the music of Suénalo Sound System defies simple categorization. A longtime fixture on the Miami-Dade music scene, Suénalo crossed the county line this year to play the Langerado Music Festival in Sunrise. Sharing a roster -- but not a stage -- with the likes of The Black Crowes and Ben Harper, the group still managed to attract a substantial crowd. With the recent release of its first studio album, ¡Suénalo!, this 10-man band is now aiming for a national audience. (Maxim en Español recognized the band in its August issue.) With a mix of voodoo guitar-playing and a horn section that blows conch shells, Suénalo delivers a passionate, energetic show. As singer El Chino puts it, "I show my heart every night."
