Torche
Myspace.com/torche

Although hard rock comes in many forms, from the ferocious to the flaccid, no South Florida band takes the genre back to its basics quite like Torche. Featuring longtime local musicians -- Steve Brooks on guitar and vocals, Juan Montoya on guitar, Jonathan Nuņez on bass and Rick Smith on drums -- Torche plays music fans of Queens of the Stone Age, Black Sabbath and even The Beach Boys will appreciate. The band's MySpace page provides a more-entertaining description of its songcraft: "Erasure and Accept on cosmopolitans!"
