Although other Blue Martini locations lie in wait for the discriminating drinker in Tampa, West Palm Beach and Orlando, the Blue Martini at Fort Lauderdale's Galleria mall stands out for several reasons. First, it's open longer than any of the other locations, from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 2 p.m. to 3 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Additionally, the 4-to-7 p.m. happy hour can't be beat, with the bar's martini, usually priced at $12, discounted to $6. Finally, local favorite DJ Le Spam spins almost every other Monday night. And that's not to mention the quality of the martinis, made by bartenders who appreciate the subtleties of "dry," "extra dry" and "just leave the vermouth out of this and give me a glass of vodka." The choice of vodkas ranges from pedestrian brands such as Absolut to the ultimate in potato-based alcohol, the appropriately named Ultimat.
