Downtown Delray Beach
Atlantic Avenue between Swinton and Northeast Fifth avenues
While Fort Lauderdale and Miami have plenty to offer clubgoers, downtown Delray Beach provides a less-stressful alternative with plenty of free parking, a wide selection of restaurants and bars, and a safe setting in which to stroll around. Neatly manicured and landscaped with lush trees and flowers, Atlantic Avenue is home to the varied likes of City Oyster, a fine spot for grabbing a martini and flirting with your future ex, and Elwood's, a laid-back bar that features blues and rock bands on weekends. Next, hit Delux Nightclub and Lounge if you feel like dancing or relax in Dada's Alice in Wonderland-like garden for a glass of wine and a bite to eat. If none of those places strikes your fancy, you can always catch a game at Bru's Room Sports Grill. (See Best Chicken Wings.)
