If you think the only time you can hear quality hip-hop in downtown Fort Lauderdale is during a concert at Revolution or some mediocre hip-hop night at some mediocre club, you obviously haven't been to The Art of Moving Butts, held the last Wednesday of every month. For $10, patrons can get their quota of funk and hip-hop beats courtesy of Hashbrown and a rotating roster of local and national hip-hop talent such as DJ Maseo of De La Soul, Miami's Brimstone127 (see Best Hip-Hop Act) and Coral Springs' Butta Verses. The popular event also includes rap battles and exhibitions featuring the work of local street artists.
