Havana

For some reason, Cuban food tastes even better when consumed after a night of drunken debauchery. And if you happen to be drinking and debauching in West Palm Beach or Lake Worth, Havana provides a delicious oasis at the corner of Forest Hill Boulevard and Dixie Highway. A walkup window remains open around the clock, serving mouth-watering Cuban sandwiches on which the cheese is slightly melted over generous portions of ham and pork and the crusty, toasted bread is slathered with yellow mustard and studded with a few pickle chips upon request. Wolf one down with some black beans and rice -- ask for the yellow rice, which is dotted with peas and draped with a roasted red pepper or two -- order a guava- or cream-cheese-filled pastry and get some café con leche in you before heading home.
