Best Sunday Brunch for Big Drinkers
October 18 2006
The Downtowner Saloon
408 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, 954/463-9800, Downtownersaloon.com
While other places boast more, better and cheaper food, no restaurant offers drinkers as much hair of the dog as The Downtowner. After a grueling Saturday night, Sunday calls for little activity, and The Downtowner welcomes bleary-eyed revelers for a brunch that includes an omelet station, eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, French toast, pasta, fruit and much more, plus all-you-can-drink Bloody Marys and mimosas. Brunch costs $12.95 per person and runs from noon to 3 p.m. Bring sunglasses, take a seat outdoors, sling back the spicy cocktails, watch the yachts pass by on the New River and consider that if you didn't blow your cash on booze every Saturday night, you'd probably own one of them by now.
