Offerdahl's Café Grill
Multiple locations, Offerdahls.com
Truth is, we go to Offerdahl's for the coffee. A cup or two of the house blend or Madera is enough to keep our inner java fiend sated throughout the day. However, while getting our caffeine fix, we also have sampled a good portion of the menu and can vouch for much of it. We sometimes find ourselves craving the pesto chicken sandwich, a finely diced and nicely spiced chicken salad scooped onto a choice of bread or bagel. Offerdahl's chop bowls also make for flavorful and filling lunches, with the fiesta bowl (grilled chicken over yellow rice with black beans and pico de gallo) and ginger Thai (grilled chicken over white rice with ginger slaw and a side of peanut sauce) at the top of the chops. We also dig the chili, a zingy and generous bowlful of beans that can be topped with sliced steak on request. For a lighter option, order a bowl of soup with half a sandwich and some fruit. Go for the coffee, stay for lunch and poke along back to your school or office wide-awake and whistling.
