Carrabba's Italian Grill
Multiple locations, Carrabbas.com

We had sat waiting for more than 20 minutes at a little hole-in-the-wall Italian eatery on Federal Highway in Pompano Beach, the sort of place that's heavy on ambiance but whose staff apparently believes it can get away with skimping on friendliness. With the waiter busily talking with diners at another table, a busboy finally took pity on us and gave us some carrot sticks. Finally, following the example of another couple, we got up and left … and went down the street to Carrabba's. The moment we stepped through the doorway, a hostess greeted us with a smile, seated us and introduced us to our waiter, who was even friendlier than the hostess. We weren't sure whether we were at a restaurant or had joined a cult. Carrabba's accepts you. Carrabba's loves you. And even if you hate the soullessness of chain restaurants, you will grow to love Carrabba's -- particularly its pasta specialties. The mezzaluna costs only $10.99 and boasts half-moon ravioli stuffed with chicken, ricotta, spinach … and love in every bite.
