Park Avenue BBQ
Multiple locations in Palm Beach County 561/694-2091

At Park Avenue, the meat is smoked before it's grilled, resulting in distinctly flavored pull-apart ribs, shredded pork and juicy chicken that only gets better after being slathered with a hot or mild barbecue sauce. The side dishes are equally remarkable, including a hearty Brunswick stew; tart yet molasses-thick baked beans; cool and crisp coleslaw; and made-to-order onion rings. The fried chicken is also cooked to order, though it generally takes about 20 minutes for the supremely crunchy poultry to make its way from the kitchen to your table. It's well worth the wait. Every meal at Park Avenue should end with a slice of buttermilk cake off the homemade-desserts menu.
