Catfish Deweys
4003 N. Andrews Ave., Oakland Park, 954/566-5333, Catfishdeweys.com
Many restaurants serve all-you-can-eat dinners, but Catfish Deweys is notable for a multitude of reasons. First, its $12.95 fried catfish is all-you-can-eat every day. But the place offers other all-you-can-eat specials, as well, including Alaskan snow crab legs Thursdays and Sundays; fried shrimp Mondays and Tuesdays; barbecued baby-back ribs Wednesdays; fried scallops Fridays; fried clam strips and oysters Saturdays; and stone crab claws while they're in season, from Oct. 15 to May 15. When you feel like testing the limits of your stomach's ability to hold food, no place offers as many options as Catfish Deweys. If the crab legs are calling, try to make it in on the first Sunday of the month for Shirley Ray's Hoedown. Reservations are strongly recommended, because plenty of folks have realized just how well country music, catfish and crab legs go together.
