Occupying 1,702 acres in central Palm Beach County, Okeeheelee affords space for just about any activity under the Florida sun. The lakes are big enough to accommodate canoeing and kayaking, freshwater fishing and water-skiing. (The park is home to the Ski Club of Palm Beaches.) The grounds include a competitive BMX track; bike trails; a 27-hole public golf course; volleyball and tennis courts; football, soccer, baseball, softball and rugby fields; a 111-acre equestrian center; the five-acre Pooch Pines Dog Park; and the 90-acre Okeeheelee Nature Center, which offers 2.5-miles of trails through woods and wetlands.
