Brian Piccolo Park
9501 Sheridan St., Cooper City, 954/437-2626, Broward.org/parks

Brian Piccolo is home to the only velodrome track in South Florida, and it's one of only two parks in Broward County, along with Quiet Waters, that has a facility for in-line skaters, skate boarders and BMX bicyclers. The 333.3-meter, banked velodrome has served as a training site for serious cyclists since it opened in 1993, but bike rentals and development programs are available for new riders who want to graduate from flat road surfaces. The 35,000-square-foot outdoor skate park is outfitted with wooden ramps and two street courses that have enough variety to keep skaters and BMXers from getting bored. Cyclists and in-line skaters also make the rounds on the 500- and 800-meter loops at the new criterium track adjacent to the velodrome and skate park.
