Few teams ever have as good a year as the Team Ski Rixen wake-boarding squad has so far this year. In July, the Deerfield Beach-based group, which trains at Quiet Waters Park (see Best Place To Cable-Ski and Wakeboard), sent four of its members to the cable wakeboard world championships in Feldkirchen, Austria, where the U.S. team won the bronze medal. Ski Rixen athletes Rob Mapp, Donald Shelbrick, Marc Shuster and Diego Shaw also competed individually, with Mapp taking the silver medal in the Open Men's division.
