After 19 years overseeing the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, von Hausch is still presenting the most established film festival in Florida. Along with wife Bonnie Leigh Adams, who works as the festival's senior program director, von Hausch has become a mainstay in the international film community. He has also turned Fort Lauderdale's Cinema Paradiso into a charming art-house theater. (See Best Art-House Cinema.) Not even the 2005 hurricane season could stop this man from showing great movies like last year's festival opener, The Matador, and he's continuing the quality this year with Volver. He knows the film community inside and out and, most important, supports it wholeheartedly.
