Born in Lima, Peru, Chang moved to South Florida nine years ago to study fashion at the International Fine Arts College in Miami. After his clothing appeared in Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion show in 2004, his women's and men's ready-to-wear collections and evening and bridal gowns generated worldwide buzz, prompting the now-27-year-old designer to host private shows in Korea and France. Having grown up with four sisters, Chang says a career in fashion was inevitable for him. His work has been featured in Vogue Espaņol, Ocean Drive, Cosmopolitan and Vibe. His daring hemlines, plunging necklines and clever use of silky, metallic fabrics epitomize South Beach style and have attracted the attention of Latin American singers Paulina Rubio, Enrique Iglesias and Gloria Estefan. His ability to create garments with haute-couture flair is a rarity for such a young designer.
