When it comes to changing your hairstyle, a delicate balance must be struck. A good hair colorist will listen to what a client wants and carry out her wishes. At the same time, if the client throws out an idea that won't look good, the colorist has to be able to explain why and offer some alternatives. Nossek can do just that. The raven-haired colorist started out as a Goldwell sales rep, hawking supplies to salons and eventually teaching others to do the same. She graduated to coloring and cutting, and has worked at Scissorium for six years as a stylist and chief colorist. As such, she is always booked, requiring clients to make an appointment at least a week in advance. Cost ranges from $55 for a simple, one-process coloring to $95 for a full head of high- or lowlights.
