At CD Collector, prizes can often be found in the just-arrived bins. With most of the selections priced at $7.95 or $8.95, relatively new releases sell for about half of what they'd cost in retail stores. We recently scored the new Jose Gonzalez CD and last year's collaboration between Ali Farka Toure and Toumani Diabate and got more than our money's worth. Browsing the shop's preowned inventory, which also includes some excellent vinyl selections, could keep you busy for quite some time as you pick your way by genre through the bins, perhaps discovering a gem you've always wanted -- or never knew you wanted. Located in Gateway Plaza, the Collector provides a great place to take your date before or after dinner at Il Mulino (see Best Italian Restaurant) or Sukhothai.
