House of Vintage
123 S. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach, 561/276-7477, Myhouseofvintage.com
You won't want just to shop at this restored 1920s cottage, you'll want to pack your bags and move in. Mother-daughter co-owners Michelle and Pasqualine Parparian have designed each room in the house with the customer in mind, no matter if you're in search of an early-'90s Pearl Jam T, a '50s-era wiggle dress, a pair of '70s clip-on roller skates or new gear with a retro bent. The Powder Room stocks vintage slips and frilly bedtime pieces. The Fashion Room carries products from designers such as Betsey Johnson and Givenchy. The Color Parlor is a full-service salon, and the House of Sweets kitchen sells cookies baked by Michelle Parparian and aprons crafted from vintage fabrics. While the owners truly know vintage clothing, they make even first-time customers feel as if they're rummaging through a friend's walk-in closet -- if that friend just happens to have impeccable taste.
