Who's gonna compete with this place, The Factory? Please. The Culture Room got a bit of a glossing over this year, as the open-air foyer took on a sort of quasi-Aztec look and the long bar in the main room was chopped about in half to allow more room on the dance floor. And more room was definitely something the often-packed-to-capacity Culture Room needed. While bringing in famous national acts such as Blues Traveler or Gavin DeGraw, the Culture Room maintains plenty of local cred by putting on shows by local bands even on coveted Friday- and Saturday-night slots.
