There’s something about that glow of red and green neon late at night that’s
too much to resist. And we aren’t talking about a Christmas display. No,
it’s the middle-of-the-night dash that will feel like Christmas when you
need a burst of energy. Whether cramming, ending a hot night of clubbing or just
overcome by a bad case of the munchies, nothing does it like Krispy Kreme. Somebody
should have made a movie called
Harold and Kumar Go To Krispy Kreme. Only the
drive-through window remains open at that time of night, but that merely affords
you much more anonymity when you order a whole dozen. For some reason, the doughnuts
seem creamier, hotter and more decadent at 3 a.m. And that sugar boost might be
what you need to keep you going before you succumb to hypoglycemic shock.
