Old Key Lime House
300 E. Ocean Ave., Lantana, 561/582-1889
Built in 1889, the Old Key Lime House is touted as the oldest waterfront restaurant
in Florida. Its a moderate-to-expensive seafood restaurant with a raucous,
thatch-roofed bar out back, not far from where the drift fishing boats roll in
and out. You can get food at the bar at scaled-back prices, and the catfish that
gather dockside welcome and kill one another over any French fries
you might want to toss in. Popular with both bikers and yachtsmen, the outdoor
bar sits on the Intracoastal just west of the Lantana bridge. If the crowd overflows
outside, as it often does, there is an adjacent indoor bar with pool tables and
additional booths for dining.
