Bigger can be better when it comes to enlarging your sphere of knowledge. The Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale is the biggest library in Broward and it has the most resources to widen that sphere, from the technology center on the first floor to the USF/FAU library-science classrooms on the eighth. In between, cardholders can find books, films, videos, recordings and CD-ROMs, or find a quiet corner to read newspapers, magazines and reference materials related to business, politics, economics, law, foreign languages and more. The ArtServe Gallery and Gift Shop features local artists on the second floor, near the Charcuterie Too restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch buffets. The sixth floor presents author readings at the Florida Center for the Book and hosts exhibits at the Bienes Center for the Literary Arts. Discussions and workshops are held almost daily on subjects ranging from learning to play acoustic guitar to starting your own business.
