The 6-mile Pinehurst Trail is the preferred path for the Palm Beach Mountain
Bike Association, which designs and maintains the course. The Palm Beach County
Parks and Recreation Department made Pinehurst, located in the 900-acre Okeeheelee
County Park, available for bikers to make of it what they will. Although it
remains an ever-evolving work in progress, the trail currently provides knee-scraping
technical challenges for experienced riders but is varied enough to appeal to
all skill levels. A diagram of the trail and its 24 signposts Trail Whip,
Pin Ball and Sand Slalom, among them can be viewed at the PBMBA Web site,
www.pbmba.org. Volunteers that is, users are welcome to keep the
trail maintained.
