A shameless homer? Oh, yeah. But would Miami Heat fans have wanted anyone besides Sun Sports' Reid chronicling the team's spectacular run-up to the playoffs and subsequent NBA championship title? Heat fans learned just how much they missed the cool yet dynamic Reid after the team made it to the championships and the games were shown exclusively on ABC, where network broadcasters showed no love for the Heat, whom they still considered upstarts after 18 seasons in the NBA. Providing play-by-play for Heat games since 1991, Reid displays an encyclopedic knowledge of franchise history and a love for the team born of many near misses at championship glory. But it all paid off this year, making even Reid's appearance in full 1970s regalia in a promotional Heat video seem worthwhile.
