Alonzo Mourning
Amcharities.org
A true believer in giving back to the community, Miami Heat center Mourning has raised millions to aid at-risk children and families with his Zo's Summer Groove celebrations. Founded in 1997, Alonzo Mourning Charities includes organizations such as 100 Black Men of South Florida, Children's Home Society of Florida, Honey Shine Mentoring Program and the Overtown Youth Center. Mourning, who survived a kidney transplant in 2003 and helped the Heat win the NBA championship this year, says he lives his life by the motto, "To whom much is given, much is required of them."
