Featured happy hours this week
Bizaare Avenue Café
Slightly off the well-trekked path, this café sits inside a designated historic building erected in 1926. The dining-and-drinks operation looks like a cross between an English tea spot and a fancy vintage store, and it's a favorite locals' undiscovered hangout. Dine on treats and tapas such as crepes, goat cheese and marinara, and lobster bisque, or enjoy complimentary chicken quesadillas at happy hour. The bar features a long list of wines, as well as a bit of the bubbly. Happy hour is offered at the bar only and gets you two-for-one on well and draft drinks.
Happy hour: 5-7 p.m. Monday-Friday
Recommended drink: Bizaare, a California merlot
Location: 921 Lake Ave., Lake Worth (561/ 588-4488; Bizaareavecafe.com)
Cuillo Centre
Sip two-for-one cocktails and $2 imports inside this renovated 1940s movie theater during the Cuillo Uncorked series. This happy hour includes live music and happens only on Thursdays.
Happy hour: 7-9 p.m. Thursdays
Recommended drink: The Joyito, a mojito made with fresh mint, Triple Sec, simple syrup, rum and club soda
Location: 201 Clematis St., West Palm Beach (561/835-9226; Cuillocentre.com)
The Ugly Mug Bar and Grill
Known best for its cheap and tasty wings, several big-screen TVs for game-watching and a rowdy college night for the student body, this bar and grill stays packed most nights of the week. Add to that a 5 a.m. closing time on the weekends, and you really have no excuse not to stop by and spend some time.
Happy hour: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
Recommended drink: Two-for-one draft beers
Location: 5065 W. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach (561/498-0634)
