I had a very bad experience with the way the people in charge behaved when I went there couple of years ago... I never went back there... Since I heard the management has changed, I tried it again but to my utter dismay nothing seems to have changed - the way they treat the customers leaves much to be desired!!

I've been to Udipi several times and I've been impressed by the food every time. Me and my friend get several items and serve off the different plates. I feel like I'm eating a feast and at a very reasonable price. I don't know what half the stuff is on the menu, but the things I've tried so far have really been excellent. It's a clean, quiet place to eat for dinner, great when you want a nice quiet dinner out.

Being very familiar with South Indian food in Kerala and elsewhere, found the quality at Udipi to be very high. Masala Dosa and the Thali were excellent and very authentic. The service is uneven but the staff tries to please. Often there is a cultural gap. The management appears to be absent at times, but fortunately, the kitchen delivers consistently dishes of highest standard. There are no bad choices here.

Southern Indian Food... that's it... word of advice: go to the buffet (which by the way is 7 days a week from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM) and learn every single item... some things you would love and some will probably be too spicy or just not interesting... but by far this is the best value for nicely coocked vegetarian Indian cousine

I've been here twice. Both times the food was great. I agree it is hard to figure out what to order and the waiters were not all that helpful. But everything we got was excellent and, with the right attitude, the mystery aspect can be fun. I've read all the complaints about service, and I experienced no problems. It depends what you expect, I guess. If you are adventuresome and recognize this is not a high-end or expensive spot, you can have a great meal and a great time.
