My fiancée was looking for a nice local place to eat where we could get some good Caribbean food - Sugar reef was not the place. First, the food was not Caribbean at all. They threw in some spices here and there but nothing special. Food was overpriced and portions were small. Service was good but we spent $60 and really didn't have anything to show for it...We ended up going to Bahama Breeze afterwards which has excellent food.

The best on the beach. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere very hip. We wish we could go there every week, but Michigan is a little far away. Dessert and espresso are a must for the finale. Enjoy!

This is unique on the Hollywood Boardwalk. There are so few fine eateries in South Florida where you can actually sit, almost on the beach and enjoy quality food. I always enjoy the Pork, which resembles the mashed potato mountain from 'Close Encounters', it's a great choice and like everything on their menu,it is well priced for the quality. The great food, coupled with a wonderful wine list and a completely unique 'barefoot elegance' feel, makes Sugar Reef a must for locals and tourists alike.

Sugar Reef is a fabulous restaurant with an open-air ocean-view. The owners, Patrick & Robin, & staff are tops.

My husband and I celebrated Valentine's this year with a dinner at the Sugar Reef and the food and service were wonderful. I have recommended this restaurant to my friends and return with my husband when we want to just unwind to the sounds of the ocean and enjoy a nice merlot with light meal.

The food was OK but not great. Green papaya salad was just wierd, grilled scallops were good. Prices are high for what and where it is. The Broadwalk is decidedly down-market tho this place is about the nicest along the strip. But the setting is terrific and so I recommend that you have a beer and basic dish and linger over the beautiful sunset.

The food was good, but not as exotically flavored as I imagined. Granted, we went for lunch, so how exotic can you make a sandwich? Perhaps dinners are more boldly flavored, but the price tag scared us off. We went today while the weather was good -- mid-70s, dry, with a gentle breeze. Perfect for sitting outside. The people-watching kept us distracted from the live music, an older man who knew very few of the words to the songs.

Fort Lauderdale,
You can't beat the stunning locale -- every seat has a view of the beach. And the food (rare tuna sandwich and salmon BLT) was really good. But you have to realize: It's totally open air. No air conditioning means it gets pretty steamy. And the ambiance is a bit beachfront burger joint. Which is fine. But maybe not what you expect if you're paying $23 for the red snapper dinner. It looks like a great place for breakfast. Sunday "brunch" consists of the addition to the of eggs benedict to the complete breakfast menu.
