Ruth's Chris promises to be the best steak place in the land and judging by the popularity of this national chain, who's to argue. The recipe is simple. Take prime cuts of meat -- filet mignon, ribeye, New York strip and the 40-ounce porterhouse for two, among them -- and broil them at 1,800 degrees seasoned with just enough salt, pepper and butter. There's a selection of robust red wines from around the globe to match the meal. Ruth's also serves seafood, and for vegetarians there's the portabello mushroom.     

Hours: 5-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday; 5-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
