Celebrate the diverse culture of South Florida. Donning the clothing of pioneers and pirates and sitting in the refurbished 1920s trolley while a video screen shows images of the era are among favorite things to do here. The permanent "Tropical Dreams" exhibit received an overhaul in 2004, thanks to exciting new archaeological discoveries being made all over South Florida. Tools from as far back as 12,000 years ago, as well as decorated pottery and stone axes found at the Cutler Fossil Site and the Miami Circle, will be included in the exhibition. (January 26, 2005)
