Opened in March 1988, Butterfly World is the largest butterfly park in U.S., home to more than 5,000 butterflies representing as many as 100 butterfly species from South and Central America and Asia. Tranquility is the theme here: Classical music plays amidst the garden of flowers, tropical plants and waterfalls. In addition to the live butterflies, you can visit the colorful lorikeets and feed them by hand, as well as visit hummingbirds, macaws, and hundreds of birds from around the world. Also check out the fish ponds, the museum/insectarium, the live "Bug Zoo," gift and plant shops and outdoor cafes. (January 18, 2006)

Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, 11-5 p.m. Sunday; last admission at 4 p.m.
